This association strives to create an atmosphere for the visual arts to thrive by providing informative programs for the public and organized events for artistic expression. The association works together to promote increased awareness of Seattle as the major international art center of the northwest.
Established in 1990, the Seattle Art Dealers Association (SADA) consists of the city's foremost dealers committed to representing the highest standards of fine art. Elected by their peers, members of the association adhere to the principles of integrity and responsibility in working with artists, collectors, museum professionals and the entire cultural community.
In 2007 the Seattle Art Dealers Association helped sponsor two Seattle Art Museum events, the panel discussion Behind the Scenes: The Making of the Olympic Sculpture Park (January) and Arts Community Preview (May). During the months of June and July, SADA partnered with environmental organizations to create Puget Soundscape, a series of exhibitions and events highlighting the need for legislation and individual effort to clean up Puget Sound waters. In October, several of SADA's members mounted sculpture exhibitions to coincide with the International Sculpture Center (ISC) Conference in Seattle.
